Police find loaded gun in Brisbane home after alleged three-hour stand-off

Police have allegedly found a loaded firearm at a home in Brisbane after a lengthy stand-off with a man overnight.

A car was tracked to the Woodridge home after allegedly evading police around 7.30pm.

Police declared an emergency situation and brought in negotiators and the Special Emergency Response Team to speak with the man, who they believed was armed and holed up in a roof cavity.

Senior Sergeant Phil Notaro said a man surrendered to police at 10.55pm, after an alleged three-hour stand-off.

He said a loaded firearm was allegedly found in the home in a subsequent search.

A 25-year-old man was taken into custody.

No one was injured during the incident.
