Man strangles ibis to death in Brisbane

A man has strangled an ibis to death in a bizarre act of animal cruelty in Brisbane's CBD.
Police say the man killed the bird on George Street and then used it to threaten members of the public as they walked past around 5.30am on Saturday.
Investigators have described the incident as "sickening" and are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed it to contact them.
