Man charged over central Qld stabbing

A man repeatedly rammed another man's car before allegedly stabbing him in the chest and abdomen on Queensland's central coast.

It's alleged the 53-year-old drove into the passenger door of a 58-year-old's car before stabbing him during the early morning attack at Slade Point, near Mackay.

The wounded man was taken to Mackay Base Hospital and has since undergone surgery.

He remains in a serious but stable condition.

The 53-year-old has been charged with grievous bodily harm and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle.

He will front the Mackay Magistrates Court on Monday.

Police say the two men are known to each other.
