Man stabbed in the face outside Qld shop

A man is due to front a Queensland court accused of grabbing a knife from a takeaway food store and stabbing another man in the face.

The 32-year-old is facing charges including unlawful wounding after he got into a fight with a 29-year-old man outside the Airlie Beach store at 2am on Sunday.

Police said earlier reports that the victim was a Fijian tourist were wrong.
