Man stabbed in back on NYE

A woman has been charged after allegedly stabbing a man in the back with a butter knife on New Year's Eve in Queensland.

The 21-year-old woman faces one count each of wounding and wilful damage after allegedly attacking the man just after midnight on January 1 at Nambour on the Sunshine Coast.

She is due to appear in Maroochydore Magistrates Court on January 22.

The 20-year-old man, who was known to the woman, was taken to hospital with non-life threatening wounds.
