Man 'pointed gun' at police in Qld

A man who allegedly pointed a gun at police has surrendered after a five-hour stand-off in Mackay in Queensland.

Police had responded to a disturbance at a Mackay home just before 9pm on Sunday.

They withdrew to a safe location but the man allegedly made further threats while armed with a knife.

The 37-year-old gave himself up just after 2am on Monday and will front court on weapon and drug charges.
