Man in court over Brisbane mum's murder

A man will appear in court accused of shooting a Brisbane mother-of-two in the head at her semi-rural property last month.

Police say there's no known link between Stafford Emmerson, 40, and victim Megan Kirley, who was found dead by her partner at a Karawatha home on February 9.

Emmerson was arrested on Saturday after a tip off that followed a public appeal for help to find him.

Police found him at a house in Regents Park, south of Brisbane on Saturday. He'll front the Brisbane Magistrates Court on Monday on a single charge of murder.

Police say they are still trying to establish a motive for the crime, but there's nothing to suggest a link between Emmerson, Ms Kirley or her partner.

On Friday, police released a photo of Emmerson, asking for help to track him down.
