Man guilty of assaulting race champ's son

A man has pleaded guilty to assaulting the son of motor racing champion Gregg Hansford.

Christiaan Michael Brockhurst-Challoner was due to stand trial in the Brisbane District Court on Wednesday over the attack on Harrison Donovan-Hansford in November 2015.

However, he pleaded guilty to two counts of assault occasioning bodily harm and one of deprivation of liberty and will now be sentenced on Thursday.

Two other men - Camryn Ruadhri Lloyd and Mariner Thorpe Rood - will also be sentenced on March 24 for their roles in the attack, in which caused Mr Donovan-Hansford to suffer fractures and bruises.

Gregg Hansford was an Australian motorcycle champion and touring car driver who died in 1995 when his Ford Mondeo crashed while competing in a Super Touring Car race at Victoria's Phillip Island.
