Man drowns in Qld lake during storm

A man has drowned while canoeing in a lake west of Brisbane as a wild storm swept through the area on Wednesday night.

The 48-year-old man was putting out crab pots with a friend at Lake Somerset when he was swept away about 6pm.

Emergency workers found him soon after but he was declared dead at the scene, say police.
