Qld police name Mackay stabbing victim

Queensland police have named a person killed in a Mackay homicide as 29-year-old Michael Baynton.

Emergency crews were called to a home on Arcturus Street, North Mackay, just after 6pm on Sunday and found Mr Baynton with a stab wound in the backyard.

"The public can assist us and may just hold the key to solving this homicide," Detective Inspector Nikki Colfs told reporters in Mackay on Monday.
