Man critical after Mount Isa assault

A north Queensland man is fighting for his life after suffering significant head injuries in an altercation with his partner at his home.

The 51-year-old was attacked at his Cloncurry home on Tuesday evening and a 31-year-old woman from the Northern Territory is being questioned by police.

The man remains in a critical condition in Mount Isa Hospital, police say.
