Man bashed with iron bar on Gold Coast

A man has been bashed with an iron bar and pelted with rocks and pieces of wood at his Gold Coast home.

Police say a group of youths went to the Helensvale home at about 10.20pm (AEST) on Sunday.

They were allowed into the front yard of the property but a fight soon broke out.

The man is being treated in hospital for serious but not life threatening injuries.

Police are still hunting for the youths, who fled the scene on foot.
