Man, 80, dies after crash in north Qld

An elderly man has died after a three-vehicle pile-up on the Bruce Highway in northern Queensland.

The crash occurred on the Bruce Highway a little over 2km south of Proserpine shortly after 6am on Friday.

The driver of one of the three vehicles, an 80-year-old man, was airlifted to Townsville Hospital in a critical condition but died later in the afternoon.
