Longreach 'little angel' Willow mourned

Tributes are flowing for two-year-old "little angel" Willow Walker who drowned in a water tank in outback Queensland.

Willow, whose family is well known in the rural town of Longreach, fell into the water tank on a rural property on Monday night and was rushed to the Longreach Hospital where she died.

Social media posts show the toddler will be greatly missed by parents Daniel and Brooke, older brother Harley and the people of Longreach.

A Longreach resident remembered Willow on Facebook as "a little angel" who left an imprint on so many lives.

"There are no words to express the amount of heartbreak this tragedy has brought to their wonderful family and shook our little community," Jenna Goodman posted.

The Walkers were described as a "beautiful, young" family.

Willow's father Daniel's ties to the area run deep, as the grandson of long-standing Longreach mayor of 35 years Sir James Walker.

Drought forced Daniel, a fifth generation cattle and sheep farmer, to follow a new passion of showcasing the land he loves so dearly as tour guide and host known as 'Outback Dan'.
