LNP cut flood awareness funding: Miller

Queensland Labor has accused the previous government of cutting all funding for the state's flood awareness campaign.

Emergency Services Minister Jo-Ann Miller says the Liberal National Party totally stopped funding the campaign, which highlighted the dangers of driving through floodwaters.

"Unbelievably the LNP left the "If it's flooded, forget it" campaign completely unfunded," she told parliament on Tuesday.

The minister said during that time the state faced the Bundaberg floods, Cyclone Ita and a dangerous Brisbane hail storm.

Ms Miller said former emergency services minister Jack Dempsey continued to repeat the words "If it's flooded, forget it" at every opportunity.

"He was all jabber but no ka-ching," she said.

The minister said Labor was working to fund the campaign again.
