Queenslanders believe the Liberal National Party are the most competent managers in the areas of health and the economy, the latest Newspoll shows.

The poll shows 82 per cent of those surveyed regard health as one of the most important issues in the state's upcoming election, ahead of education (72 per cent), cost of living (69 per cent), the state economy (68 per cent) and public transport and roads (44 per cent).

The survey, conducted for News Corp Australia, shows the LNP is seen as a better manager than the ALP in all areas except education and climate change.

In this election, 41 per cent of people believe the LNP are more capable at managing health, compared to 36 who believe the ALP are, the poll showed.

But an area where the LNP has gone backwards since the last election is education, with the ALP now enjoying a five-point advantage, News Corp reports.

Queensland's political leaders are set to battle it out over jobs as the election campaign continues on Monday.

Queenslanders are due to go to the polls on January 31.
