A Queensland police officer from the force's legal division has been charged with computer hacking and misconduct in public office offences.

The 31-year-old male sergeant has been suspended from official duty after being issued with a notice to appear by the Crime and Corruption Commission, a statement said on Wednesday.

He is expected to front the Brisbane Magistrates Court on June 19, charged with a total of nine computer hacking offences and one of misconduct in relation to public offence.
