Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk is about to visit Governor Paul de Jersey after Labor officially clinched enough seats to form government in Queensland, almost a fortnight after voters went to the polls.

The Electoral Commission of Queensland has declared Labor has won the Townsville-based seats of Thuringowa and Mundingbura, giving Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk the 47 seats required for a majority.

Labor is also expected to take the still undecided seat of Capalaba, taking its total to 48, with Ms Palaszcuk now on her way to inform the Governor she can form government.
