Labor pulls ahead of LNP in latest Queensland poll

Next year's Queensland election is looking tighter than ever, with Labor and the LNP neck and neck in the latest poll.

The LNP has continued its downward spiral, now sitting on 37 per cent compared with Labor's 38 per cent, according to a Galaxy Poll conducted for News Corp this week.

The result marks a significant change in fortunes for the LNP, which was polling at 39 per cent to Labor's 36 in August.

On a two-party-preferred basis, the latest poll puts the parties dead even with 50 per cent each.

But while his party is struggling, Premier Campbell Newman has enjoyed a lift in his satisfaction rating, moving to 41 per cent from 36 per cent in the August survey.

His ranking as preferred premier has also jumped, with him now 10 percentage points ahead of Opposition Leader Annastacia Palaszczuk.

While Mr Newman led 42-41 in August, he is now ahead 47-37.

The Greens position has improved, the party gaining nine per cent support in the latest poll compared with seven per cent in August, while Clive Palmer's Palmer United Party has fallen from 12 per cent to seven per cent between the two surveys.
