AAP
A learner driver has had his car impounded for three months after allegedly speeding and doing "donuts" in far north Queensland.
Police say the 17-year-old reached speeds over 140km/h when officers tried to intercept him on the Kennedy Highway at Mount Garnett last week following reports he had been performing burnouts and donuts.
The teen will face court in November on various charges, including driving an unregistered and uninsured vehicle and failing to display L plates.
