Killer on the run after man stabbed to death in Townsville

A killer is on the run after a man was stabbed to death in Townsville last night.

Police said they were called to Ackers Street in Hermit Park at about 6.45pm after reports a man had been assaulted.

Emergency services found the man had collapsed and was not breathing and had suffered stab wounds.

Paramedics attempted to revive the man but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police have established a crime scene and specialist officers are investigating.
