Key changes to Qld electorates

THE MAIN CHANGES PROPOSED TO QUEENSLAND'S ELECTORATES

* Number of electorates to be increased from 89 to 93.

* Seats of Dalrymple and Indooroopilly to be abolished.

* Six new seats to be created (Hill, Ninderry, Bancroft, Jordan, Macalister, Bonney).

* 13 seats renamed (Burdekin to McMaster, Beaudesert to Scenic Rim, Glass House to Tibrogargan, Kallangur to Kurwongbah, Pine Rivers to D'Aguilar, Cleveland to Oodgeroo, Ashgrove to Cooper, Brisbane Central to McConnel, Sunnybank to Toohey, Yeerongpilly to Miller, Albert to Theodore, Mount Coot-tha to Maiwar, Mt Isa to Traeger).

* Only two seats have no change whatsoever (Southern Downs and Townsville).

* First expansion of Queensland parliament seats since 1986.
