Jury discharged in Qld child assault case

Jurors in the trial of a Queensland criminologist accused of sexually abusing a child have been discharged for a second time.

Paul Wilson, 74, had been on trial this week in the Brisbane District Court charged with four counts of indecent treatment of a girl under the age of 12 in the 1970s.

However, jurors were discharged on Thursday afternoon and a new trial date has been set for February.

The initial jury, empanelled on Monday, was also discharged the same day.
