Firefighters battle repair shop blaze in Brisbane's north-east

A fire is burning at a repair shop in Bulimba in Brisbane's north-east.

It is understood all staff are safe and firefighters have the blaze under control.

Emergency crews were called to Taylor Street at 8:30am, AEST, where fibreglass and motor parts are burning.

There were concerns that the smoke coming out from the building could be toxic.

The street was shut off in case there were any explosions.

The smoke could be seen kilometres away across Brisbane.

The fire may have been started from a welding device.
