Hotel spearfisherman in Cairns court
AAP
Three teenagers accused of shooting two barramundi with a spear gun in a Cairns hotel have had their matters mentioned in court.
Casey Smales, Jacob Butler and Corey Sterrett, all 18, were charged with trespass and unlawfully killing an animal after they allegedly speared the metre-long fish at the Hilton Double Tree Resort in August.
Police at the time alleged the men filleted their catch at a local car wash before being arrested when they returned to the hotel the next day.

Their matters were adjourned in the Cairns Magistrate Court on Monday and will be heard again next month, when it is expected they will plead guilty.
