Hitchhiker goes missing in north Qld

A man missing for almost a week may have been hitch-hiking his way through far north Queensland.

Patrick Lewis, 36, hasn't been seen since last Thursday night when he was staying at an address in Stanley Street in Townsville, say police.

It's believed he set off to Cairns by hitch-hiking and police hold concerns for his welfare as the "behaviour is out of character".
