Queensland schoolboy charged after allegedly stabbing classmate in the back

A 12-year-old boy has been charged for allegedly stabbing a teenage classmate in the back during a high school altercation in Brisbane’s south.

Queensland Ambulance Service were called to Shailer Park State High School following the alleged stabbing at 2pm yesterday.

Paramedics treated a 13-year-old boy with a back injury, who was transported to Queensland Children’s Hospital.

The teen suffered non-life threatening but will require stitches. He today remains in hospital and is recovering.

Police yesterday seized a knife which is now being examined.

His alleged attacker now faces one charge of wounding and will be dealt with under Queensland’s youth justice act.

The child protection investigation unit are making inquiries into what caused the dispute.
