Pauline Hanson's One Nation party will double its chances in Queensland with the unveiling of a new federal candidate.

The controversial political figure is expected to roll out Rod Smith, a tradesman and small business owner, for the seat of Wright on Wednesday.

Mr Smith becomes the party's second lower house Queensland candidate for the 2016 federal election, alongside Hinkler hopeful Damian Huxham.

On the party's official website, he says he first joined One Nation in 1997 because he believed Ms Hanson had solutions for Australia's future.

"Rod believes that Australia can no longer take in more unwelcome migrants that are swamping our facilities, housing stock, roads, hospitals, schools and who are forcing wages down by the competition for jobs," his profile reads.

The Wright electorate extends from the western Gold Coast through rural areas between Logan City and the NSW border, as well as areas of the Lockyer Valley Council region near Ipswich.

Mr Smith will be formally introduced by Ms Hanson at a supermarket in Boonah on Wednesday morning.
