Hanson doesn't speak for Qld: treasurer

Queensland Treasurer Curtis Pitt has encouraged ministers and bureaucrats who travel to Asia to reassure dignitaries that Pauline Hanson doesn't speak for all Australians.

Mr Pitt was asked on Wednesday what his advice would be for travelling state government representatives asked about Ms Hanson, who once notoriously declared the country was "in danger of being swamped by Asians".

"What we need to be saying is that we have a democratic process in Australia, people are elected ... but that doesn't mean they speak for all Australians and they certainly don't speak for Queensland," Mr Pitt said.
