Qld property damaged after gunshots fired

A house north of Brisbane has been extensively damaged after shots were fired inside the home during a Christmas Day disturbance.

Police swooped on the Kallangur property shortly before 3pm after receiving reports a suspected gunman may have shot himself in the hand.

Officers stormed the Wattle Street house on Friday and found a firearm inside.

However, nobody was inside the house when police arrived.

Nearby streets locked down while the police operation was ongoing have since been reopened.

Nobody has been taken into custody following the incident and investigations are ongoing, police say.
