Good samaritan injured in Qld road crash

A woman is fighting for her life after her ute was struck from behind as she pulled over to offer help at the scene of a crash west of Brisbane.

Police say the woman, who was with a child at the time, stopped on the Warrego Highway at Haiglsea around 8.20am to offer help following a two vehicle collision.

Her ute was then struck from behind, leaving her with serious head injuries.

She was taken to Princess Alexandra Hospital in a critical condition while the child was taken to Lady Cilento Children's Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
