A Gold Coast tradie has vowed to put down his tools after taking home a $20 million lotto jackpot.

The man, in his 40s, was contacted at work by Golden Casket today after scooping the entire division-one prize from last night's draw in the 50-game quick pick – a $60 investment for a multi-million dollar return.

"This has got to be a wind-up! Is this real?" the man said today.

"Oh my god! Please mind my language but this is f---ing awesome."

The man, who wishes to remain anonymous, has been a construction worker all his life but has already begun farewelling colleagues.

He plans to pay off his house and start major renovations.

"Then I'll spend my days playing golf because I love it and I'll actually have the time and money to be good now," he said.

The win is the third time a winning division one ticket has been sold at Paradise Point News in the past 14 months.

"It's pretty incredible," business owner Peter Francis said.

“He had a mortgage and he obviously borrowed money, now he can just pay it off. You can’t ask for anything better than that.”

Builder Johari Hassan said the $20 million win would be “a gift from god”.

“Just hang up the tools and rusty steel caps and go travelling for a few months fishing,” he said.
