Gold Coast resort project not dead: govt

Queensland's government is working with a Chinese developer to find a new site for an integrated resort on the Gold Coast.
ASF Consortium last year proposed to develop Wavebreak Island, but the plan was knocked back by the new Labor government after their shock January election victory.
State Development Minister Anthony Lynham says the project isn't dead and his department is helping the developer find an alternative site.

"We value ASF's commitment to Queensland and its respect for our processes, the environment and the community," he told parliament on Tuesday.
ASF has said it plans to present a new resort proposal as soon as possible.
