Alleged bikie linked to car chemical haul
A suspected Hells Angels bikie is in custody after police allegedly found drug-related chemicals in his car on the Gold Coast.
Specialist officers have been called in to handle the potentially dangerous chemicals, which police believe were intended for the manufacture of illicit drugs.
A 36-year-old man is being questioned over the discovery, which was made after police from the Gold Coast Rapid Action and Patrols group pulled over a car at Elanora about 8.15am (AEST).
Superintendent Jim Keogh says the man was known to police.
"Police will allege that the driver of the car, a known Hells Angels motorcycle member, was found in possession of chemicals which we believe are linked to preparing amphetamines," he told ABC radio.
Investigations are continuing.
