Girls injured in peak-hour Qld pile up

Two girls are among four people hospitalised following a serious peak-hour crash on the Pacific Motorway south of Brisbane.

Four vehicles collided about 5.30pm on Friday, putting two women in the Princess Alexandra Hospital with serious injuries and the girls - aged eight and 10 - in the Lady Cilento Hospital with serious head and facial injuries.

Police say a 22-year-old man and 23-year-old woman also suffered minor injuries, while three lanes of the highway were closed for about four hours.
