Girl stabs 14-year-old in chest in Queensland

A 13-year-old girl is accused of stabbing another teenage girl in the chest and abdomen on Palm Island.

The victim, 14, has been flown to the Townsville hospital in a serious but stable condition.

Police said the girl was attacked with a knife just before 10pm on Monday night, in a street on the island, off Townsville.

The accused girl will face a charge of unlawful wounding and will be dealt with under the youth justice act.
