Gas leak forces Brisbane home evacuations

A gas leak has forced the evacuation of several homes and closed Manning Street, in the inner Brisbane suburb of Milton.

An excavator ruptured an underground pipe on Manning Street about 12.15pm, a Queensland Fire and Emergency Services spokeswoman said. 

The street has since been closed to traffic as crews work to fix the leak.

There are no reports of injuries.
