Firefighters have battled a blaze at a garlic bread factory south-east of Brisbane overnight.

Emergency services were called to the Australian Garlic Bread Company, at Capalaba, about 2am.

Approximately nine cubic metres of boxes filled with garlic bread were destroyed in the incident.

Firefighters utilising breath apparatus worked for several hours to bring the flames under control.

Queensland Fire and Emergency Services deployed eight fire trucks and other support vehicles to the scene, wrapping up the operation around 1.30pm today.

Investigations are now underway to determine the cause of the blaze.
