Fresh details have emerged about the major shake-up in store for the Queensland government's frontbench.

Health Minister Yvette D'Ath was told she will be moved to a different portfolio as a part of the cabinet reshuffle, news exclusively revealed by 9News journalist Tim Arvier on Tuesday night.

It is understood Attorney-General Shannon Fentiman will be taking over the role.

Environment Minister Meaghan Scanlon, considered by many in the government to be a potential future premier, is expected to take on the housing portfolio.

There is no confirmation yet which portfolio current Housing Minister Leeanne Enoch will take on.

Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk had said several weeks ago there would not be a reshuffle and denied D'Ath would be moved out of the health portfolio.
