Accused Qld fraud brothers want contact

Accused "Irish Boys" fraud gang brothers Aaron and Daniel East are urging a Queensland magistrate to let them contact one another.

The siblings will attempt to have a bail restriction lifted which prevents them visiting or communicating with each another in a Gold Coast court on Wednesday.

The pair, along with Irish-born duo Stiofan Ceitann and Neil McKenney, have been charged with aggravated fraud.

It's alleged the group ran a so-called "boiler room" business which sold fraudulent computer software and managed investment schemes to more than 150 victims over 18 months.

Police claim the group fleeced more than $4 million from the scheme.

The Easts, Ceitann, McKenney and another co-accused - Chloe Rose Podger - all had their cases mentioned in Southport Magistrates Court on Tuesday.

Lawyer Chris Nyst told the court the East brothers wanted to have their no-contact order varied on their bail.

Aaron East was in court but Mr Nyst said he had kept Daniel East in his office for fear of breaching the no-contact order.

Magistrate Chris Callaghan said he required both men to be present for the application and adjourned the matter until Wednesday.

All five fraud matters have been adjourned until February 2, while another alleged gang member who wasn't in court on Tuesday is set to appear on December 1.

McKenney, 34, is also facing additional charges relating to drug possession and tainted property, believed to be cash.

His matter has been adjourned until October 13 while a separate bail variation for McKenney will be heard on Wednesday.
