Four tossed from ute tray in Qld accident

A 14-year-old boy has crashed a ute on an island in the Gulf of Carpentaria, injuring two teenage girls and two women.
His four female passengers aged 15, 18, 21 and 26 were riding in the rear of the tray and were thrown from ute when it crashed on Mornington Island just before midnight on Saturday.
The boy lost control while negotiating a corner.

The 18-year-old woman has been airlifted to Mt Isa Hospital in a serious condition while the other passengers suffered minor injuries.
The boy is being interviewed by police.
