Former Queensland police officer 'tied woman up with electrical tape' in sex assaults

A former Queensland police officer has pleaded guilty to sexually assaulting two women in their own homes including allegedly tying one up with electrical tape.

David Edward MacFarlane pinned one woman down on her couch and taped the wrist of the other together, prosecutors are expected to allege.

The 37-year-old was a serving officer at Logan at the time of the attacks and faces up to 10 years jail, the Courier Mail reports.

MacFarlane assaulted one woman at Crestmead in March 2012 and another at Cedarvale in May 2013. He has since quit the force.

The hearing in Brisbane District Court was adjourned so that the defence and prosecution can discuss the details of a psychologist’s report before sentencing.

MacFarlane's bail was formally continued and the matter will return to court for a mention on September 8.
