Firefighters extinguish blaze in Murarrie

Emergency workers have extinguished a blaze in Brisbane's east which was sparked by burning containers.

Twelve fire crews were sent to the site in Murarrie on Monday morning after reports industrial drums at the back of a Queensport Road property were alight.

The fire has been put out and scientific officers are on scene trying to figure out how the drums combusted, a Queensland Fire and Rescue spokeswoman told AAP.
