Family found safe after Qld house fire

A Queensland family has been found safe and well after fire destroyed their home in the Gold Coast hinterland.

A police spokesman told AAP the house was destroyed in the blaze that broke out at the property at Biddaddaba, near Canungra.

Fire crews arrived at the scene at about 9.10am and searched the smouldering ruins after the family couldn't be accounted for.

Authorities later said the family had been located safe and well.
