Ferocious fire destroys popular Gold Coast hinterland bed and breakfast

A powerful fire has destroyed iconic bed and breakfast The Polish Place at Mt Tamborine on the Gold Coast.

Emergency services responded to the restaurant and lodge on Main Western Road just before 2.30am this morning to find the building engulfed in flames.

Firefighters managed to get the fire under control, but not before a reported 90 percent of the 33-year-old building had sustained fire damage. 

No one was injured in the blaze, believed to have started in the restaurant’s kitchen.

Firefighters remain on the scene where they continue to extinguish spot-fires.

Authorities have since launched an investigation into the cause of the fire.
