Fed funds just start in violence campaign
AAP
The announcement of $100 million in federal funding to tackle domestic violence in Australia is only one piece of the puzzle, a Gold Coast-based advocate says.
Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull announced the funding last month in the wake of several highly public incidents including two alleged murders of Gold Coast women by their former partners in the same week.
Gold Coast Centre Against Sexual Violence director Di Macleod says the funding is welcome but there must also be a change in attitudes and approaches to tackling the crime.
