Qld police to detonate suspicious device

Police will detonate a suspicious device several hours after it was found in a Gladstone lane.

The device was discovered at 1pm on Friday, and at 6.35pm a "small section" of nearby street was closed so officers could examine it, Queensland police said.

Police have now confirmed the device will be safely detonated, and warned nearby residents they might hear two explosions.
