Elderly woman loses TAB winnings to thief

A feisty 76-year-old who had a good day on the punt has failed to fight off a bandit who swiped her handbag and winning TAB tickets.

The elderly woman refused to let go of her bag when a bandit grabbed it after breaking into her Wynnum home on Tuesday afternoon.

In the ensuing struggle, she was pushed to the ground and the thief fled with the bag and tickets it held.

A woman was later caught on CCTV cashing the tickets at a hotel on Wynnum Road.

Police have released the footage in the hope of nabbing the thief and his apparent accomplice.

Police couldn't say exactly how much money the tickets were worth.
