Elderly man injured in Qld attack

An elderly man has suffered serious injuries in a violent attack on the Sunshine Coast.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the attack at Caloundra's Golden Beach Esplanade about 3am (AEST) on Sunday, which left the 73-year-old with facial, neck and hip injuries.

They're searching for a man aged in his mid to late 30s, who was also seen confronting a taxi driver, and banging on the vehicle's window.
