Elderly man attacked with knife in Qld

An elderly man has been stabbed in the head with a knife during a fight at his home in the Gold Coast hinterland.

The 83-year-old was taken to hospital with wounds to his head, hands and arms after the fight at his Currumbin Valley property late on Thursday afternoon.

His injuries are not life threatening.

A 30-year-old man, who also lives at the home, has been charged with serious assault and unlawful wounding.

He's due to face Southport Magistrates Court on Friday.
